I hate this week!

It's so full of things and the worst thing is there's no band. D:

No band until Aug 12.

And then it will stop for like two whole month or sth.

D: Oh man.

I need to buck up on Math.

Serious.

Math used to be my best, and science the weakest.

But now, it seems like the opposite.

As in it's still not my weakest but, my grades are dropping way too much.

I loved Math and still loving it now.

I haven't start revising for anything yet.

It's okay.

I have everyone with me.

There's no need to be afraid.

band prac on non-band-prac days

I can assure it's going to be really really fun.

Jiayi's hmp was cancelled today

so she could accompany me to prac

if not i'll be quite alone even though there's clarinets.

But yay Jiayi. (:

There were more ppl in band room today than on last week's.

Then we started playing together Perseus and Meiguo de meinv.

i tell u.

I was the only one in my section who came

and when we played American Beauties,

I was like Part C Part C.

I had to solo.

I gave them the my-section-is-not-here look,

ha.

In contrast,

the trumpets had their whole section there. ._.

Yes.

Oh and we sang cos MianJun wanted it.

The lower part was the loudest OF COURSE.

and only two firsts.

But anyway,

it was really a nice prac with them.

SIBF counting down.

We can do it.

Your great attention to detail is both a blessing and a curse.

and a sense of accomplishment overwhelmed me.

Poetry Slam

Tired.

&

a bit Disappointed.

not because of results (I was rather happy with it),

but cos of the way things were arranged.

Today's actl the National Schools Lit Fest.

There were i think 3 events mainly Book Parade, Poetry Slam and debates.

AND there were around 2-3 teams per school participating in each event.

Nan Hua has over 10 teams even. -.-

Yeah.

We're the pathetic ones.

For PS, (Poetry Slam in short)

there were 4 heats, each held in 4 diff classrooms with 10 teams per heat.

And we had to present the 2 poems to one judge and the teams that were there.

there could only be 4 teams shortlisted for the semi-finals.

In the end, my team was tied with I think, Hong Kah Sec.

We had the same marks.

So, we had to perform the 1st poem one more time.

Haha. Yeah. we managed to get through the heats.

That was really a close tie.

Then had a short break.

Ha. the judge was quite interested in our school team

and hence approached us to give comments on how to improve.

But MOSTLY because of Mrs Siva Koh, i think.

The judge seemed to like her a lot and kept chatting with her.

haha. that was a preview for you.

Cos next up, it's because of this that we manged to get to Finals.

:D

The semi final round was really scary.

SERIOUS.

16 teams qualified for it.

and 6 teams will be eliminated from this round.

I could even feel my heart throbbing loudly.

I can't stand that kind of butterflies-in-my-stomach feeling.

It made my palms go cold and sweaty.

Yeah.

So we presented.

I thought we had a lot of flaws in our presentations.

But anyway, the scores were quite amazing.

It's out of 10 from each judges.

we got 7.2 7.3 8.5

and lastly

9.6.

It's a serious 0.4 more marks to 10.

Guess who awarded that.

:D

Yeah. so we got to finals.

It was really exciting and

nerve-wrecking.

AH~

oh oh then the emcee informed us that

because time was short,

they had to only shortlist 7 instead of 10.

Yeah.

Our scores were okay. Like average.

Yeah. Other teams did better.

And hence, we didn't get the top 3.

But it's okay.

I'm alr happy with top 7.

It really is the fun and laughter we had that really counts, that really lasts.

It's not about winning or not.

Right?

It's the bond that we share,

it's the silly mistakes that we made,

that made us improve more.

I did enjoy myself today.

Cos we kept laughing off our heads about the mistakes we made

when we were rehearsing early morning.

And also, to calm ourselves down,

we recited our previous LA poem recital assignment,

THE SEA by C.S Lewis.

It really brought back memories.

:D

I need to ask my brother to give me advice on composing a song.

I want nice nice chords.

:)

Today's a hilarious yet depressing day.

I shan't say about the depressing part cos it's private matters.

Let's start with a few hilarious things.

First is assembly.

HAHAHAHA.

Our section was laughing like crazy fanatics when the chants began.

Don't kill me if you see this.

It really was super comical.

Oh then to CIP.

the "clients" were really a bit hard to deal with at first.

We were a total stranger to them, but it went okay later on.

Some of them were really talkative.

In my group, there's this guy called Timothy who likes to sing.

Oh gosh.

He kept singing

We are the world,

We are the children.

Then I don't know what he's singing alr.

Cos he was like going so low that i couldn't catch the words.

Later, we were ordered to march with him.

Yes. MARCHING.

LOOK CHUNMIN. This is your forte.

You should totally do your marching and be proud of SJAB. :D

Right. I missed Band today cos of SLAM.

I could hear the PART C of American Beauties very clearly from 3rd floor.

It sounded nice.

Yeah. then stayed in band room until 6 plus.

Talked and laughed like mad.

Joei's really a GREAT storyteller.

Haha. Her expressions are epic.

Lastly, FLY.

Oh my. It was super cool at the end.

"Icarus" was like being lifted up by the bars

and everyone looked so awesome.

Good job. :)

Hope we'll win something as expected from the school. D:

Today was fairly well done.

We really sounded nice and mystical.

:D Our singing~ It's practically like heaven.

I'm exaggerating. But it's true.

Came back home at like round 8.30.

Because of that poetry slam thing.
